Its a 2GB flash drive
First try formating the flash drive. If it gives you errors or still only has that small amount, run the following program, this will be the best flash drive formatter I have found.:

Trying to put 6.56GB movie
The
file system is likely the culprit for this. If you've formatted the USB stick with
FAT32, the largest SINGLE file will be about 4GB. You can place as many smaller files as you want to fill the stick completely (in excess of 4GB), but once you approach 4GB for a single file - it will crash.
Format with
NTFS instead. No 4GB limit is placed on files in this file system. A nice chart listing the differences between file systems can be found
here. The forth row "Max File Size" shows the data you're asking about. NTFS supports 16TB (terrabytes are
1000 times larger than gigabytes) while FAT32 is limited to a "paltry" 4GB. Both FAT32 and NTFS are supported by Windows XP and newer OSes.
I hope this helps - please rate my reply - thanks!

Forgot password
When you click on the Vsafe100 file and are prompted for a password, click on the HINT button at the bottom. Hopefully you entered a hint to remind you of the password. If not, buy a new USB drive and create a good hint, then back up all your USB drive files to a PC regularly. Live and learn. :)

I have a verbatim 2gb that cant be read sometimes
When it can be read, copy all the files onto your 'C:' drive.
Then, take a sledge-hammer to the Verbatim, to make sure that NOBODY will ever be able to read any files from it. Then, responsibly recycle it.
Spend $10 to buy a new 2GB device.

Hi!
I have a Verbatim 8GB
Throw it away (after taking a hammer to it, so that any "data" on it will definitely _NOT_ be able to be recovered). Then, for less than $20, buy a replacement.
Or, check the manufacturer's web-site. If it is still under warranty, maybe they will replace it, at minimal cost to you.

I cant format or put
Some Verbatims have a write protection switch on its side - make sure it's not activated. Then open the properties of the stick in My Computer. If in there the stick isn't set as read only then it has died - there's nothing more you can do to save it. Junk it and get a new one.
