I have my ps3 connected to my pdp-503hde plasma.

play station start in 800x600 and then boot to your recommended settings the tv picks up the signal from the ps3 to change to these settings if the signal is not being changed then it could be a problem with the cable and usually pulling it out while its on and then back in again sorts this out.

No picture but is back light, the remote doesn't work or any buttons on machine, only turns on by power button on screen which flashes twice, waits, does it again a couple of times and then turns off!

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Most failures in PLASMA TV are due to failed power supply, Y and Z sustain boards. So check all three boards for shorted circuits, blown fuse and caps. You may want to download any one of the PLASMA TV training manuals to learn about PLASMA TV since the operating principles are about the same.

No sound on tv Help my mother in law is very

Hi,

Check that all of the cables are plugged into the back of the TV. Check over your connections and the TV settings, I'm assuming you do have satellite or cable. Make sure that the cables you screw in are all the way screwed in and all the color coated cables are into the right color outlet, especially the red and white ones. And just to be sure, check if you accidentally hit mute.Even if you have an S-video connection it is suggested plugging in the audio cables if all else fails.

Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com

Televisions receive sound through the tuner then amplify using an audio chip.  Both are prone to cold solder joints  when they are under a year old over aging solder joints when over 10 years old.  Your audio chip may have failed.  Hopefully your tv is still under warranty.

Plasma e01 error

Hi. Had all the symptoms with my Pioneer 43" plasma with RO3E receiver that have been previously posted. I got so fed up with it turning itself off that i decided to take the top off the receiver and look for the dry solder joints on the power supply board that some have posted to have cured the problem. I removed the power supply board (which involved removing an interface unit which is mounted above it) and found no issues. I then proceeded to remove the switch board which is placed in front of the power supply board. When i removed the electrical connector which i found not to be fully inserted, i noticed that there was a brown burnt stain in the middle of the connector plug indicating a possible poor connection. I removed the electrical connector from the unit completely (the other end connects to the adjacent board with the fuse on it) and cleaned the connector plug with electrical cleaner and re-inserted it into the receiver and built everything back up. I am happy to report that the tv starts up first time every time and has not turned itself off since. I have included a picture of the offending plug in its built up state (it is the one with the row of black wires with one red wire). Do not attempt to do this unless you are suitably qualified.

Can't get full streaming to pioneer plasma from mac book air

Hi

Do you recall when Steve Jobs introduced a little white box called the Apple TV which allowed his products, both Software like TV shows and films from iTunes, to connect to digital TV displays?

Within that little box was the solution to problems their engineers foresaw.

You can connect your mac book to the Apple TV box and achieve the advantage of components therein that solve the problem you have by virtue of disk swapping on the 40GB or 160GB drive.

If you don't want to purchase an Apple TV and subscribe to the services for any reason, you should, if available disk space is available on your macbook, increase your swap space on the drive you have or on external drives so as to accomplish flawless streaming.

If you need help on that, let me know.
