"enter and advanced surround keys"? I don't see that documented as a special function in the manual.

BTW: other than the Flashing light, is there a malfunction?

Page 72 describes how it REALLY resets...

Resetting the main unit

Use this procedure to reset all the receiver's settings to the factory default. Use the front

panel controls to do this.

1 Switch the receiver into standby.

2 While holding down the TONE button, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button for about three seconds.

3 When you see RESET? appear in the display, press ENTER .

OK? shows in the display.

4 Press SYSTEM SETUP to confirm.

OK appears in the display to indicate that the receiver has been reset to the factory default
settings.

My pioneer vsx-815k receiver goes to protect mode and now when i try to reset it there´s no red standby light on and theres no fuse blow, what shoud i check? to turn it on?

I would think that the cost to replace would not make fixing this an option.

Pioneer manual repair

You have probably blown an internal fuse. You may find more information here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/218219098VSX815OperatingInstructions.pdf If you are inexperienced in electronics repair, you should take your unit to the nearest Pioneer service center.

PIONEER VSX815-K NO FUSES BLOWN BUT NO POWER

How do you know no fuses are blown - you have to check with a multimeter. Are you sure the outlet has power? If the fuses are fine and there is for sure power, then it may be getting power but the capacitors are shot or something else internally is blown. It sounds like it's probably beyond your scope and should be brought in to an electronics repair shop.

Vsx-815h,power on hear the click

Hello
At first check does the amp tunes to radio stations and can you hear sound from it. Your amp has no HDMI input function. The setup may have changed to your DVD or Blu-Ray player. Without knowing the device you connected to it, it is difficult to point out the exact fault. Anyway , just try these as your amps' maual indicates.

The user manul of your set points out these reasons only for absence of sound with your amp.
Go to the signal select setup and select "Auto" there. If it is selected to AUTO mode when you input a digital signal or analogue signal, the set will detect it automatically.
check whether MUTE finction is ON. If it is ON, turn it to OFF.
Check the speaker select function.
OK

Disply showing only 5.1 how

you have to have a 7.1 sound on the DVD in order for it to be detected. make sure to buy or rent a DVD that indicates on the back that it is recoreded in HD(X) sound or 7.1 sound. I hate to tell you, but there are not many that are recorded that way, there are a few that are 6.1 but the majority are 5.1 sound. you may be able to purchase a test DVD that will have various types of sounds on it as well as differnet videos to try, these disks are made to help people set up their HD sets and sound systems. big box stores like Best Buy etc may have one., or you could order online through a google search good luck

Where do my subwoofer speaker wires get hooked up

Hi there, the Pioneer VSX-815 amplifier only feeds out a mono LINE LEVEL output with the subwoofer signal. Therefore you would need to connect the SUB PREOUT jack at the rear of the unit to the "line level input" on a self-powered subwoofer. Hope this helps.. Cheers, Yusuf

Pioneer VSX-815-K receiver with sub in standby

Have you looked in the manual?

No sound from subwoofer. • Make sure the subwoofer is switched on.
• If the subwoofer has a volume knob, make sure it’s turned up.
• The Dolby Digital or DTS source you are listening to may not have an LFE channel.
• Switch the subwoofer setting in Speaker Setting on page 40 to YES or PLUS.
• Switch the LFE Attenuator Setup on page 61 to LFEATT 0 or LFEATT 10.
