Hi, What OS are you running? win 7 , XP? If win 7 right and give admin rights.I had a similar problem but seems that Sims 3 needs a good graphics card. I was using my onboard graphics. I put in a graphics card that I had, 1 gig Geforce 9800. Now sims 3 is working great. I hope this helps
