In Microsoft Word, there is a function called "View Side by Side". You can access it by going to the "View" tab on the menu, and there is a small button with a small book icon called "View Side by Side", but you must press this button after you open the 2 word documents, and by pressing this button, Word will arrange these 2 documents side by side on your screen.

As an alternative to go the software piracy route, you can download Open Office for free from www.openoffice.org. The word processor is 100% compatible with MS Word files (it can even save files you create in Open Office as .doc files). The spreadsheet software is also fully compatible with MS Excel. The software looks and feels like MS Office, only it's free and carries a different name.

avg 360 is a new problem very annoying spyware/malware. I recommend this free download (link below) to help FULLY remove all traces that the program has left on your PC. To help prevent it from coming back.

Download install and run it, after it removes it you can uninstall the program. If you don't already you should be using an Anti-Spyware program such as Ad-aware (free) to prevent future problems such as this.

Limited resources means your computer does not meet the basic requirements to install the program.
On the side of the box, it will state the minimum requirements necessary for the program to run... ie 256MB ram 20GB free space on HDD etc.
You will need a newer PC, or older version of Word in order to install it on your computer.

Sounds like you are trying to use incompatible versions. Go back to the laptop and use "save as" to save the file in a different (earlier) version. Details are provided in a drop down box

Frankly, I think you are being lazy about this. You can play with the program and get some things done, but it will take longer to get anything done than if you have some basic knowledge. Without reading tutorials you will never be proficient and will not be able to do many of the tasks. Get onto the Internet and search "free MS Word tutorial" then look through the numerous offerings and pick on that is simple and intuitive
