Hard shutdown sounds more like it would be a ram issue, power supply issue or a overheat issue, i would make sure everything is re-seated, Remove ram/cpu and reinstall them,reapply thermal paste to the heatsink before reinstalling it to CPU, if you have more than 1 stick of ram, try it one at a time, might be one bad stick. if you have an extra power supply lying around try it as well, if not, most computer shops have power supply testers, or you can buy one for about $25. do each thing one at a time, so that if it starts working your not wondering what part did it.
i personally would lean more towards the powersupply, or a power issue, make sure there isnt anythign shorting out in the case or on the back of the motherboard. There could be an internal short in the power supply as well. they are designed to instantly power off if ANY kind of short is detected on any of the power wires going to any of the devices..

The memory is correct please can you try putting in only memory stick at a time and see if this problem occurs, it could be that one of the sticks could be faulty

OK, ASUS is the video card, and the MOBO is from ECS...Which makes great boards BTW, I've had one for about 4 years now, put it through hell, and it won't quit. Anyway. If you're trying to get sound from the asus...you may want to make sure your HDMI standards are compatible on both ends.There are at least 3 standards thatI know of, and the drivers may not support one or the other properly. Also, the asus website offers certain utilities for downloading.

The setting in the BIOS for which slot the graphic card is installed is nor correct.

suspect you may need to disable the motherboard built in graphics card and tell it to use PCI graphics adapter otherwise an interrupt conflict in CPU and possible conflict as both devices compete for same computer resources.

Hi, Could you elaborate? I have never heard of this... unless you are talking about the Administrator password Windows asks for during install... which you can typically just leave blank and continue the install...
