TECHNICS SC-CH550 STEREO SYSTEM
Hi
I belive that you have a lot of dust how is gatherd behind the system in the amplifier and it is preventing it to cool down you need to blow it clean and make sure that you keep the system gets cool air
if the temp in the amplifier gets to high it shut down the system instand of burning it very clever solution from the manufacturer
you have a very good system good luck

I am not getting power to my sub-woofer that i
> checked resistance getting nothing
Nothing = zero or nothing = infinite?
If it is essentially zero, you are probably OK since the DC ohms of nearly any speaker measures very low resistance; they are rated in impedance which is a complex combination of resistance (R), inductance (L), and a little capacitance (C) and becomes the 'Z' of the rating of (typically) 4-8 ohms.
If it is measuring open (a flashing display on any resistance range of a digital meter), then you probably have a problem.
You can safely take a single flashlight battery (or any 1.5 volt cell) and apply this by tapping across the input of your sub-woofer.
If it makes a fairly loud 'click' then the speaker is functional.
If it passes the test, you have connection or output problems from your amplifier.

Technics DVD Stereo SC-DV290
never done this myself, but I would guess you take phono jacks from your TV (L & R out) and plug them into the back of the sound processor, iether VDP(AUX) or VCR(EXT) IN
then go to your remote and press (vcr(ext)/vdp(aux) repeat pressing until you hear you tv
each time you press button it should go through a selector menu
TUNER->DVD->TAPE>VCR(EXT)->VDP(AUX)
hope this helps

Dvd wont play ...each time you insert a DVD it shows DVD HO2...
I had the same Problem, player was only 13months old when the error HO2 appeared (typical huh?) anyway 2 years of this thing getting shifted from cupboard, wardrobe, attic, (did'n't want to throw it out cause it cost me £700), finally it came to fix it or bin it time. scoured the net to no avail, lost the rag and half dismantled it..then during all of this ( oops I'm going on a bit LOL)
you can hear a sound as though the disc is trying to be read, after 100's of attempts to get it to work, I finally noticed the disc had not changed position. (disc was not spinning) pointed to the Motor??
what I did to fix this was unplug from main's, remove top cover until you can see the top of the dvd disc, got hold of a pencil with a rubber on one end, plug back in, switch power on, and gently pushed top of disc ( clockwise ) and it kick started it off
that was over 3 years ago and the player is still going strong
I know its a bit rough, but nothing ventured nothing gained ;)

Technics sl-dv280 home theatre system
Hi,
The user manual can be downloaded from the Panasonic Uk site and it is about 2mb in adobe format. I recently downloaded it but the Panasonic site can be quite hit and miss sometimes. I'm new to this site and not quite sure of all the rules but I can email the manual to anybody who needs it.
