Automatic updates/ network adaptor goes missing / magically returns after system restore

Where is the Network Adapter originating from? Windows? If the Update is a Windows update, Hide the update. It may be an error, it's happen to me on a HP Network Adapter, When I installed it the Ethernet Adapter would not work, I rolled-back the driver on the Ethernet Adapter and it worked perfectly. I "Hide" the Windows update in Windows Updates.

Need to lock router

Log into the web based admin, and look for the SSID (user) and key or paraphrase (password) under wireless. Your login is based on manufactuer and model.

My guess is that the software that uses the drivers is not in you system any more ,that's why you can not load the drivers .

Contact your ISP to get the landline number which is assigned to your line, even if it is only being used for broadband DSL. This isn't an issue with your router so much as an issue with your account and your ISP.

When the router is reset, you can use the factory default password. Usually "password". You can enter setup. '192.168.0.1' go into the config and change the password.

have you try disable your firewall? windows firewall / antivirus firewall (do not disable your antivirus!) just disable the firewall one by one and try again on difrent usb ports, are you using administrator account to install this ? good luck :)

Device cannot start code 10

I have seen that sometime (especially after a reinstall) the wrong drivers get installed.
  • Firstly i suggest going to: http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/downloaddrivers.php and finding the make and model of your network adaptor and update it using the latest driver from that website
  • Or you can try and see if your computer manufacturer, be it DELL, Toshiba etc.. has drivers available for your machine as well and get it from their site.
Try each solution and if it asked you to restart once you install the new drivers make sure you do. Any problems let me know.
