I cant connect to my internet using a ethernet cable, it say limited or no connection yet after going through this with virgin media for an hour turns out the problem is to do with me not them, please

if you were able to connect earlier on this computer and if you can connect on another system/ computer using the same ethernet cable and virgin media connection as of now it does mean that the issue is computer specific so you can try a system restore thru start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>> system restore and restore the system to a earlier time when you were sure that internet connection worked. you can also try forcing ip and dns settings which Virgin media can provide. also you can try changing the speed and duplex settings to force 10mb half duplex and see if it works. Good luck

Computer will not boot

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option. Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows. Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear. Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot. After reboot your problem should be resolved.

How can i make my OS windows xp updates to full

You can make windows xp full version by the following instructions:

1) start > run > "regedit" (without the quotes of course)

2) go to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents\OOBETimer
...and doubleclick on it. Then change some of the value data to ANYTHING ELSE...delete some, add some letters.....just change it!
now close out regedit.
3) go to start > run >
"%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a"
(again, dont type the quotes)
4) the activation screen will come up, click on register over telephone, then click on CHANGE PRODUCT KEY,
enter in this key: JG28K-H9Q7X-BH6W4-3PDCQ-6XBFJ.

Now you can do all the updates without activating, and the Genuine Microsoft Validation Thing won't bug you no more!!

Reinstall XP without losing my data

you can backup important files with an external USB adapter for your drive, you'll have to use a working computer to connect the drive from the other computer. When you are satisfied you have a backup, try the windows repair OR re-install windows xp using the "upgrade" option, it should leave all your files in place. Don't do a factory reset if you have that option unless you're sure everything important is backed up.
