XP Media Center fails to

In Safe Mode only the essential files are loaded so either one of your programs that was set to start at boot or a driver got corrupted. First disable one by one all the programs from the boot start list - use msconfig for that - till you find the corrupted one. If it's not one of them then it's surely one of the drivers - uninstall them one by one and replace them with the latest versions.

90% of the time windows says it islogging off but

As it appears it is a driver and system problem, your system or/and Driver files may have become corrupted and need a good refresh. Several ways to do this via this link alone: -

Go to http://www.techsupportalert.com/pc/cleanup-tools.html

and select what you feel is appropriate and also comfortable with to use.

Do a virus and malware scan while you are at it just for good measure.

Next, try Sytem Restore from a much earlier time.

If this fails, you may need to do a system restore using your original XPMCE disks. Do a full system backup first.

Don't forget to save your msg, eml and other hard drive emails to a folder as these will be deleted. Other programs and system files may need to be updated again too.

There is a possibility that your computer power saving plan, or automatic shutdown settings were somehow changed. To check power settings, go to, (Control Panel), click on Change Power Settings. From here, choose when the Computer Sleep, when not in use, how long the display stay on, and when the computer should shutdown etc. I hope this Fix it,

I don't know what to do once i put the disk in?

I'm not sure what condition your system is in or what caused you to attempt a system recovery, but without further information to guide me, I'd suggest you take a look at this MS article and follow the instructions outlined there.
On the other hand, if your system is an HP or Dell or some such name brand, it's possible you would be better advised to go to their support site and follow instructions specific to your model. Search the support site for info on system failure or recovery console, etc. and you'll be likely to get detailed instructions that may help you through the process.
If you want further help, write back with an account of the symptoms exhibited before your system failure and what steps you took to remedy it, and we'll try to walk you back to health.
Otherwise, good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

My computer crashed I try to run the recovery but

Fit-it utilities usually doesnt do anything.
I am not sure where you are at now, but if you run the cd-recovery, chances are it will erase everything and bring it up to a factory installation, then, if you have a backup, you will need to do a recovery.
thanks adi
