Can I use the battery charger BC-400 overseas?

No, you cannot. This is due, not only to the shape of the plug, but also to the fact that the AC cable for BC-400 do not comply with overseas regulations. Though the label on BC-400 indicates the voltage rating (100-240V), the durability of the power cord for each type of BC-400 differs respectively. Minolta has no responsibility for any damage or loss incurred by use of AC adapter or BC-400 not warranted in the region. The mentioned electric cords may not be inseted to the power receptacle. In this case please obtain the transform adaptor at the local dealers. (Please be noted that especially in China there are 5 or 6 types of plug .) Warning: Please be careful when pulling in/out the cord from the power receptacle for the electric shock prevention.

What are the flash metering modes?

The DiMAGE A1 employs three metering modes; ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) flash metering, Preflash-TTL metering and Manual. The ADI flash metering mode combines distance information from the autofocusing system with information from a pre-flash exposure. On the other hand, in Preflash -TTL metering mode, the exposure is calculated with a pre-flash only. Flash emission control is manually selectable in three levels from 1/1, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16. Pre-flash TTL metering must be used when a diffuser is attached to an external flash or a filter to the lens. Attachment of those accessories may cause error in distance information necessary for ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) metering due to reduced entering light. While manual output control is active, pre-flash will not burst.
