When I can not see LCD screen when sun shines on it I use viewfinder , I think it tells you in the user Instruction manual if sun is so bright you can not see LCD use viewfinder .

The best way to remove all pictures from the memory card is to format it. Consider the following: Minolta closed their camera division in 2004, and sold the operation to Sony. That's also why the later Minolta lenses are compatible with Sony DSLRs (Minolta AF mount).
However, this meant that Minolta cameras were also automatically rendered obsolete, with no new spares being manufactured / supplied. (I know, I still own some Minolta cameras and have been down this road)
Now, I'm sure you can see how slim the chances are of getting any spares for the camera in question, especially a humble Point and Shoot.
