Film will not advance on monolta 7000

You may have reached the end of the film canister or the canister may be jammed. Try rewinding your film and removing the canister and then see if you can advance the camera. If you still cannot advance the camera, you most likely have a problem with the internal gears and will need to have the camera serviced. Hope that helps, BAX

Chances are the spring that holds it in place or the catch is broken. If you don't see it loose inside the camera you'll need to send it in for repair to some repair shop as Minolta doesn't repair them any longer.

Film advance lever wont move

Do you have a film in the camera? If so is it all exposed? Best thing to do is press the film rewind button and try the lever at the same time - this will eliminate stuck film issues as it removes film tension from the system. If this does not solve the issue then you need someone to have a closer look.

Film advance lever won't move

Replace the batteries, clean the battery compartment and capo, and then try and fire the camera. Camera will not work without batteries.

The film advance lever is not advancing the film -

Normally when this happens it is because something in the advance mechanism has either broken or come loose. This will require disassembly to diagnose and repair and can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not really a user serviceable problem and should be done by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have it repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

If this response has been of any help to you, please be sure and give a positive vote for me on FixYa.com.

Minolta x9 shutter does not

First off, is there film in the camera? If so, it sounds like it's at the end of the roll. Rewind the film, stroke the wind lever over to finish the shutter cocking cycle and that should solve the problem.

If there is NOT film in the camera, open the camera back and look at the shutter curtains, if they appear to be damaged, or out of alignment that's the problem. If nothing apppears to be wrong there, it's an internal issue and you'll need to consult a technician.

Anything other than it being at the end of a roll of film will require a technician to properly diagnose. Also, use the battery check function to see if the camera is getting power from the battery. If not, use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts inside the battery compartment and try again - if still nohing it's again internal.

The camera can likely be repaired, but cost will depend on the exact issue. Find a reputable local shop, or I'd recomment KEH (KEH.com) if you have to go with an online dealer.

Do you keep advancing the film til you get to one.

When you advance the film, does the rewind crank turn counter-clockwise? If not, then you haven't loaded the film correctly onto the take-up spool and must start again.

The film advance lever is stuck on my minolta

Here are the most likely:
A. Lever will not move on some models if the shutter is already cocked. If the shutter is cocked, and will not release with new batteries INSERTED CORRECTLY, then the most likely is this...
Two capacitors in these Minoltas die over time. If you are handy at such things, you can buy the caps, remove top and bottom covers, remove the dead caps and solder in the new ones. Don't Panic.
You can find instructions on the web for this well known issue, and you can also opt to send it to a camera repair place. Garrys camera repair in Niles, ILL does it for about $58 incl return shipping. He will also clean, lube and adjust it for ya. Something they all need eventually.

The camera is 20 years

As you've tried fresh batteries your only remaining options are to get physical with the camera. Slap it down firmly on a desk or other similar surface.

Other than that, your camera has become a spare parts donor. Any kind of pro repair is not cost effective and spare parts are no longer obtainable.

If you have miniature screwdrivers., patience and some experience of electromechanical repairs then you may find it's worth the gamble to purchase a downloaded copy of the repair manual for the X-370s. Please note that in providing the link I'm just showing one example of a supplier, you may find others you prefer or even get lucky and find a free download. Even if the DIY approach fails it's useful knowledge and experience which anyone who can do this type of repair has to go through in order to learn in the first place.
