try to open yahoo site from diffrent browsers such as opera...

please be a bit more spesific, what email service are you using, are you using a webpage email service or email client program on computer, do you get any error messages?

What message do you receive?

go and download another one

if the browser can connect to the internet ..and you can see other sites or make searches on the search engines..it means the the issue is just with the yahoo site ..In this case it is probably on the banned list or something like that ..or the provider you use has a protection against the Yahoo mail sign in site ..
Try to reinstall the browser ..or the operation system all together ..if you use Internet Explorer ....Or just download and install Mozilla Firefox..Cause it works better with yahoo..
if you can not connect on the internet at all it might be either the driver from the LAN card or the LAN card itself that it is gone and need replacing ..or Like I said just the driver and the settings on the tcp/ip protocol ..In this case call to the provider and they have to get there and see whats wrong ..

throw your laptop to the bathtub with water and let it dry for 5 minutes and make sure that you plug it right away then turn it on.

try updating your version of yahoo, or uninstalling and reinstalling the old version, if there is no updated version.

Most likely the problem is that the link(s) are bad, or the server is down and directing you to another page. This happens a lot with web pages, and there's nothing you can do about it, except to try to notify Yahoo about the bad link(s). It takes time to correct them, since a web page designer has to go into the program, and correct the link. If your computer can surf the net (go to your homepage, etc.) then the problem is the link(s), or a problem with their server.

That doesn't happen to me anymore, but it did because I had a new browser (examples: Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer 8). Just right click the ActiveX thing and push "Always always allow pop-ups on this site" or whatever it says. Good Luck!
