This device can not record from VCR to DVD locally not a DVD recorder. However you can record from this device to your computer save the file as a wma and then burn that file to a DVD and then watch the DVD on the DVD player. the rca cables themselves could be unhealthy or the terminals in which the jack pins for rca cables are connected can also be faulty. try to use other cables and if you still do not succeed then check the terminals and correct if there is some jamming

Remove any discs from the unit. Make sure your tv is on the blue screen. It should say "Progressive Scan Mode"....After removing the disc(s) from the disc changer, close the changer, press and hold the stop button on the unit, not the remote, for 5 seconds or more and it will reset to normal playing mode. Progressive Scan is typically only for TVs that use Progressive Scan....most normal TVs do not use progressive scan mode. Hope this helps...It worked for me!!!!

The TV channel should be set on Chanel 3 or Chanel 4. Use the remote control of the TV to set it. You can also use the AUX ports (to TV) on the VCR and connect the three wires to the AUX ports on the TV (TV input). The two audio wires are to be connected to Audio in and the Video signal to the Video input. If you get a garbled picture you can use press the tracking button on the VCR. Usually you press the Channel Up arrow, or Channel Down arrow to adjust the picture.
