It feels like the belt is slipping when engaging
the transmission itself most likely is failing. like the engines, the transmissions are all made by a handful of companies. you need to get the manufacturer and model number of the transmission, contact them and see if any adjustment is possible. unlikely and please do not waste your time removing the thing, draining it, refilling it, bleeding it, only to find that it made no difference. been there and done that. a new transmission costs about the same as a new tractor, however some are sold NOS on eBay so you could luck out. do not put a used one in. i could not find anyone who does a rebuild/exchange but you are welcome to google around, seems like there should be a market there with all the complaints just on this board.
the maker and model number may be stamped along the bottom of the transmission along the line of the axle, if not you are going to have to get it off the top. my husqvarna 22-48 had no access hole under the seat so i had to remove the transmission just to get the maker info.
good luck
My Husqvarna YTH21K46 start's up
There should be a pulley that the brake/clutch petal pulls against to disengage. You could have a problem with that. You will have to turn it by hand to check and see. Check the main drive belt while you are in the area. It may be helpful to remove the deck so you can slide up under there get a good look.
I hope this gets you going.
I have an 2004 husqvarna
all the safety switches tie into a central relay which keeps you from spinning the deck and/or starting the engine unless everything is copacetic. start by replacing that relay as it sounds like you have a problem at that point.
The last rwo - three
check the belt routing sounds like you have it wrong way round one of the pullies
Very bad vibration when engaging the blade
Bad vibrations when engaging blades is usually caused by an out of balance blade. Out of balance blades occur due to damaged and/or bent blades. The fix is to find and replace the offending blade.
Vibrations when the cutting head is lowered .
Sounds like a bent blade to me. Can you determine where or which side the noise is coming from? For safety, I would replace all the blades. I once ran over my son's baseball while mowing and bent the housing and that caused the blade to hit the side of the deck. I simply bent the housing back with a few hits of a hammer and back to mowing I went.

I can not say this enough, check the safety switches. There should be one on the seat, the clutch /brake pedal and /or the equipment pto switch. Also, check the wires running to these switches. They tend to move and vibrate as you mow and a worn spot in the wires can cause a short, resulting in the mower not starting.
Good Luck!!!
Brand new riding lawnmower, stop on hill, set park
Sorry to hear about your problem...you aren't the only one having it. Sounds like a hydrostatic problem or a pulley freewheeling on a shaft somewhere. If you bought your tractor at Sears they might could help you---the husky and are the craftsman are the same. Husky uses a little better engine is all. Hope this helps.
Why would my mower just cut off when it gets hot?
THER IS A FUEL SHUT OFF ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CARBURETOR. IT NEEDS 12 VOLTS TO IT WHEN RUNNING, IT MAY BE BAD, OR THE COIL, CHECK FOR SPARK WHEN THE MOTOR GETS HOT AND QUITE. HAVE A SPARE SPARK PLUG HANDY! FOR THE TEST. . BEST GAS TO RUN IN SMALL EQUIPMENT IS MARINE GAS, IT HAS NO ALCOHOL .. I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE ..DO TO FUEL. ALSO YOU MAY WANT TO CLEAN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM.. BEST OF LUCK HOPE I WAS OF HELP ? IF'N I WAS HIT THE YES BUTTON... JAY... YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA
How do you change a tyre
Hello
Simply jack it up, support it with stands, unscrew the lug nuts or remove the axle pin, and remove the wheel.
You can push and hold the valve down until all of the air is out, or you can use a cheap valve stem tool to unscrew and remove the valve. This is preferable because it's faster and also when you reinflate the new tire, it will inflate quicker and seat the bead easier -- more on that later.
Place a piece or carpet or other protection on the rim next to the tire. Get out two tire irons and place them a few inches apart on top of the rim and under the tire.Lever the tire up and clear of the rim. Leave the two irons in place and put the third iron a few inches outside of one of the two, on top of the rim and under the tire, and lever that section up and over the rim. Pull the middle iron out and repeat prying up small sections until the whole bead is free and above the rim.
There is usually rubber or other gunk stuck to the rim that you want to remove. The edge of the rim that contacts the bead needs to be clean and smooth in order to seal properly. When clean and shiny, spray the soapy water onto both the rim and the new tire beads to make them slippery.
Put the new tire over the top of the wheel and push down with some force. You should be able to get about 1/2 the bottom tire bead over the rim. Using your tire irons again, lever the bottom bead over the top of the rim all the way around. Then do the same to the bead.
With the valve stem still out, attach an air hose to the valve. It is possible to do this with a manual pump, but MUCH easier with compressed air. If you don't have a compressor, take the tire to a gas station and use theirs. The trick to this is getting the beads wet with more soapy water and compressing the outside of tire so that the beads touch the rim on both sides. If you have a ratcheting tiedown, you can use this around the circumference of the tire and squeeze it so that the beads touch the rim. Inflate the tire until you hear two loud POPS as the two beads seat against the rim. You may have to overinflate the tire slightly. Be sure to do this safely.
Once the beads are seated, let out the air, replace the valve into the stem and inflate the tire to the proper pressure.
Replace the wheel back onto the tractor and tighten the lug nuts to the proper torque or reinsert the axle pin. You're done!
BEST OF LUCK
MOWING DECK WILL NOT "TURN
A wiring diagram and a test light are needed. If you don't have the wiring diagram, use a test light, start at the clutch and work your way back checking for current at each switch/connector. It maybe the ignition switch, there should be one terminal on it that feeds 12v to the clutch curcuit.
could be your ignition switch but thats the best way to find out where its not getting power to.
I don't kown anything about charging
mille get yourself a cooler and put 8 cold beers in it. Put that cooler into the gap between the seat and the "dash" of the mower. Make sure your gas and oil are good. Have someone jump start your mower from a car and then you mow and drink and mow and drink until the beer is all gone. If the mower does not start from the battery the next day go out and buy yourself a new battery. If the battery and charging system are good then you do not have to charge it if it is being used regularly.
