The camera needs a professional service. If you're lucky the fault is just due to gummed-up, dried-out, lubricant films but if luck is against you you'll need a new shutter assembly (highly likely). Spare shutter assemblies are not easy yo come by, so if the repairer tells you that the shutter is broken you may be better to look for another camera.

35mm SLR's are mostly worthless or nearly so these days except for a few professional grade models, so getting a replacement is not difficult if you're prepared to accept different makes/models.

Do you get the same problem when displaying pictures taken BEFORE the fault occurred? If not, then the camera has a failed imaging sensor and the only fix is to repair it (very expensive, but may be covered by warranty) or to replace the camera.

As your camera is not very old then it's worth contacting Samsung even if the warranty has expired.

This is a result of the linkage from the shutter release button being out of adjustment. It is a mechanical fault that can be repaired very easily.

You have yourself a camera with pedigree and it would be a shame not to put a few rolls of film through it before you decide whether to continue to use it, store it as a collectible or sell it on. Who, exactly, are 'they' ? There are many models of Pentax SLR camera, both film and digital, and there is a different manual pertaining to the care and operation of each of these. If you go to the Pentax Service Centre relevant to your place of residence, all the available manuals will probably be there. If the one that you require is not available, you may find it by doing a Google search for the make and model, followed by the word Manual.

Please, which camera model? Are we talking about the external flash or one built in? If it is built in the camera may think there is not enough light thus setting the flash to fire. That is what auto does, it takes all the decisions away from the camera operator.

I think the 'o____' is intended as a pictorial representation of a roll of 35mm film, the 'E' signifying an error in loading it. Not used this particular Pentax model myself, but some of them have a slot in the take-up spool where the 'tongue' of the film should be inserted - is that the case with yours ?

It is designed to use 35 mm film DX coded from 25 through 5000. Film can be slide film, B&W, and color negative film.
