Send back for repair, there is a fatal electronic problem that must be repaired. this is not something you can do yourself, since it requires major parts be diagnosed and replaced.

To make sure you have a problem, go to the menus and reset all to factory specs.
Retry the camera.
Some companies are fixing problems with the ccd for free. Not sure of your model.
if all fails, sell on such a site as Ebay as a repair/ as is/ fixer camera.

there is a lock switch on the card, if the card doesn't work on either position try the camera with another sd card and see if it gives the same error let me know.

In order to download or view pictures stored in your camera to your PC, you have to install the drivers. Follow these steps

1- Use CD which came with your camera, and install the drivers for your camera. If you do not have the CD, You need to go to the pentex and download the drivers for your camera and operating system.

2- After installing the drivers, connect your camera, follow the screen to install the drivers. When it says ready, the icon will show up when you click start, then computer .
Now you can download, copy or view the pictures stored in your camera.

If you have copied the picture to your computer or you don't want the pictures that are on it, just use the camera's menu to format the card, that will delete all the pictures on it and it will be ready for use with the camera again.

Face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this .

depending on what computer you have you can take the card out of the cam and put it in the "CARD READER" if you have it, most store bought desk tops have them and just about ANY LOPTOP made today has them on the side or front of unit, or if you printer has a "card reader" you can print them that way...HOWEVER you will need to write down the ones you want to print unless you a a viewer lcd screen on the printer

The same thing happened with my camera, I gave it to a freind for her husband to look at it. He said when turning on face the lens side down (to the ground) when turning off hold lens side up right (to the sky). this worked for mine. I don't know if he did anything else to it but when I zoomed I got lens error. I did what he said and it took several tries but it did work... please post if this helps you.

almost positive it would be the camera. you might want to look around in local news and reportrs and stuff about power lines in the area to see if anyone else has the same problem. if not, take it in a shop
