Could be you need to set the output volume on your receiver for the soundbar. Most receivers allow volume output for each speaker

It's been a lot of years since I worked on an HS-U65, but I'm pretty sure it only plays NTSC VHS Tapes.

Do you see a small fan close to it? Is it gunked up with dust? It could be the bulb but it sounds like it isn’t getting cooled.

I agree...thermo (heat) problem in power supply. Saw the same problem with Mitsubishi models many times.

LCD's are bad, warranty won't fit just a few, only a lot, yours aren't enough for warranty, best get new tv, they are expensive to fix
