Husqvarna 28cc Hand Held Blower HVH 125B - Page 9 Questions & Answers
What are the factory settings high and low on husqvarna 128ld ?
Carburetor setting should be done by a dealer and by using a tachometer. However, to get a ballpark setting. Turn the screws in until they lightly seat, then turn the "H" and "L" screws out 1 1/2 turn. Then have your local dealer finish setting the carb.
What the engine compression supose to be on a husqvarna 125b leaf blower?
I don't know, the specifications page doesn't give much technical detail at all.
The compression pressure at starting speed of a 2-stroke is lower than generally expected due to the engine capacity growing at a certain speed due to reflected exhaust pressure waves effectively blocking the exhaust port.
A too-high starting compression would result in fuel detonation at speed resulting in piston damage, something many motorcycle owners discovered the hard way in the early days of high performance Japanese bikes.
I would be content with around 100 psi but the real test is how the engine starts and works...
Model 132 leaf blower. How should I adjust the idle and mix screws?
The user manual usually describes the adjustment process fairly well and usually it works well on a new or nearly new machine but not so well on older machines. The typical carburettor has three screws being the throttle stop adjustment for the idle speed, a mixture screw for low speed and one for high speed - by the time a machine has aged enough to need adjustment, getting it right is nearly impossible and getting it near enough to do the work is the main aim.
From the position the screws were in when the machine last run well it is important to note 1/8th of a turn at a time is the sort of adjustment needed. Adjust the low speed screw for a reasonable idle and then up to working speed to adjust the other for smooth running, or at least that is the theory.
The trouble is adjustment of one screw has an effect on the other which means a deal of patience toing and froing between the screws until a balance is reached...
I have a 545 XP Husqvarna chain saw will start and run with finger on trigger but when I take fingger off it will die won't idel
Carb idle mixture and idle speed adjustment might do the trick or it might need a carb stripdown and clean before readjustment. The carb diaphragm can be affected by long immersion in fuel and lose flexibility and in that case replacement is advised.
There is a small chance the vacuum pulse from the engine crankcase isn't strong enough to keep the carb supplied with fuel at low rpm.
This isn't unusual and usually happens when a 2-stroke engine has been idle for a while, such as over winter. It was running fine last season but now it simply won't behave.
In that scenario it is possible the crankshaft seals have lost flexibility and air is being drawn past them reducing crankcase vacuum...
