looks like the t-con board failing, or a lose connection to the t-con or screen ribbons off the t-con board to the screen. its fitted to the screen back under the shield will look similar to this.

I am a expert on these sets and have fixed hundreds of them.

2,2 is short protection and 97% chance one or both of the pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit are blown (bad).

Model indicated uses a single STK-393-110 convergence IC. The fuses and chip are on the middle circuit board which needs to be removed to repair the set. Total parts cost will be under 25 dollars---I use a seller on EBAY who has the chip and the fuses.

I have start to finish step by step instructions for this repair in this model as I have done it hundreds of times.

Soldering and some skill are involved in getting the board out and replacing the parts.

Yes. Rear-proj.with 3 picture tubes. These, like most newer tvs have self-checks that shut the tv off if the fault could worsen problems for the TV (such as damage picture tubes.) or it's not able to put a picture up. After it shuts off, you can press menu and input/device together for 5 secs, and it will flash a 2-digit code (such as "23" or "24", etc.)(vertical or horizontal error.) Though you will need to call a repair shop for repair. It's usually better if they are Mits. factory authorized, as they'll likely have more exper. on Mits.

lamb is gone out you need to replace it with a new one

Try new battery's in the remote, and check all volume buttons, one may be stuck down.

if the problem is intermittent it could be bad solder connections on the convergence output ic's but being a noob I don't think I would recommend trying it yourself, Just getting to those connections can be a challenge.

IF power light comes on for a moment and then goes off:

Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.


Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.
