1430H won't go forward or back? It will move slowly but it's like when the clutch goes on a car, does not have enough grip to go? The belt is still on and not broken

I believe you either need to adjust the tensioner or replace the belt.

What are the basic maintenance tips needed to

Engine oil should be changed every 50 hours of use or annually, whichever occurs first. The oil should be a 10W-30 and it takes about 1.5 quarts with filter change. Check/clean the air filter every time the oil is changed. After cleaning the filter, hold a light to the filter to see of there is light coming through. If the light is very faint or none at all change the filter. Spark plugs can be changed every other oil change. The front axle should be greased every service, there is a grease fitting on each side of the axle towards the top of the spindle, by the wheel. There is also a grease fitting on each blade spindle. They are not easy to grease without taking the belt shields off. Also check the bearings on the deck by grabbing the pulleys and try to rock side to side. Check the belts for cracks, and make sure the tire pressure is set right. If your tire pressure is off the mower will cut uneven. I usually set tire pressure 10psi for the rears and 12 psi for the front. Hope this is what you were looking for, Daniel.

Try stripping it down and having alook sounds like the piston ring has snapped and is pumping gas into the oil that would explain why the oil is coming out the the exhaust the black smoke is just oil burning up ou also might want to clean the carb alittle too.

John deere x300 will not move

It sounds to me like the traction drive belt slipped off of a pulley or broke. The easiest way to get to the traction belt is to remove the mower deck. There is no easy way to replace the belt, however. It runs from the transaxle at the rear to the engine at the front, around idlers. Let me know if you would like assistance in replacing the belt and I can walk you through it, Daniel.

My mower seems to have low fuel pressure. Gas

Yes it is a vacuum fuel pump. Remove the line to the carburetor and place a clear container to catch fuel. Crank the engine and watch to see how much fuel is being pumped. It could either be a weak fuel pump or the pickup line in the fuel tank is starting to rot, depends on how old the mower is. The pickup line in the fuel tank is rubber, and sitting in fuel for many years can break the line down causing it to fall apart. It should be noticeable more if the fuel tank is below 1/2 tank. Hope this helps, Daniel.

The service engine indicator will stop blinking on it's own. It is just a friendly reminder to have your machine serviced and cannot be reset. It will subsequently come on every 25 hours and last approximately 1 hour. That is if it's a John Deere mower. Hope this is what you're needing, Daniel.

This mower backfires. Will not start unless

for openers i would start by having someone check the valve clearances. sounds like you are out of time, and that is a common issue with a mower over 3 years old. if the intakes are opening way to late, and not far enough, you have a problem.
