How to reset factory defaults
I will presume you have the model listed here and have the Mitsubishi remote in working condition. These sets have 3 hidden menus: Adjustment (stay out of that one), Convergence, and the OPTION MENU.The option menu is the one you would want--it requires that you turn set on--enter a 4 digit number that is model specific. In the option menu you can do a HARD reset which puts everything except convergence back to factory (that is stored in another area). The reset puts all settings back to factory--set will come on once done on channel 3 in air band etc.Let me know model number here is or is not correct and I will give you a link to the service manual with page number to look at---explains how to do the reset. Not a bad idea to save that manual as it contains all kinds of good info on this set.SD TECH
I have a Mitsubishi medallion 65 and it keeps turning off,
Dear Sir,
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
1 - 2 = no error detected
2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 PART # 283P044020 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. I hope this helped.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
Only turns on with remote and won't stay on
Power button on the television itself may be stuck - go to the unit and press the power button se if it engages. If it depresses and sticks there is your issue - if it does not check the remote take out the batteries and unscrew the unit take the rubber pad out of the casing and spray out with canned air. If that doesn't do it - try unplug the tv from the wall for 1 minute or 2 and replug-in and see if the problem persist if so you will need to contact a tv repair shop but it sounds like the button on the tv needs to be cleaned because something is holding the power position in a spot to turn the unit off
It just turns its self off
have you tried accessing the self diagnosis feature as soon as it shuts down to see what the blink code is? If so let me know the error code and I will assist you with the issue
