Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a mitshibushi 1800 tv. which will not power up blue light then red nothing happens
I repaired one these. The convergence board is bad. You will have to change the two STK Ics. These will have, I believe thirteen pins, mounted on large heat sinks.. And that is not the only problem. You will need to resolder this board as there are as many as 15 bad grounds. This board is very thin and you need to exercise care pulling it out, desolder, install and solder in the new ICs. Once again this board is very fragile. Another name for this board, is the signal board, look for all the RCA jacks and RF connections on it. Thanks for asking

Tv turns on but won' stay on
If you haven't recently changed to demo mode, or some how activated the sleep feature, then I would say that either the power switch or power supply have gone south on you. I would wager that the power supply has a bad capacitor in it some where. if you are pretty tech savy you can take it apart and see for yourself as the bad capacitors are usually swelled up. also there is usually more then one. but not more then three.

Mitsubishi 1080i HDTV has sound but no picture.
a COUPLE of things occur to me--Some of these sets had a problem with coolant leaking from one of the picture tubes--there is a sealed unit for each tube with Glycol--clear liquid like anti freeze but much more concentrated and TOXIC!
You may want to remove the front speaker grill and inspection plate behind it and look carefully across the front of the three main boards--it will appear as a discoloration of any parts on the boards-it does not take a lot to do fatal damage to the board--if you see any actual liquid on the board--do not touch it--you have to look mostly at the first few inches from the front of the boards--if you do not find any Glycol signs I have only one other suggestion:
All these sets have a hard reset that will put the set back to the condition it was when new and in the box---any labels on inputs will be removed and the set will turn off and then come back on channel 3 in the air band---you would have to put it into the cable band and autoprogram the channels again----
Take your time and look for any discoloration of parts on the boards---if glycol---solder connections will not shine but be discolored. (may look a little like battery cable in a car that has corrosion)
Let me know what you find and if you want to try the reset let me know and I will tell you how to do it for this model.

I have a projection television ws 55809 it turn off everytime i try to turn it on i did the test an 22 was the code what is it and how do i fix it
What you have is short protection--it means one of two pico fuses on the middle board is bad and it and the two STK-392-570 chips it uses for convergence are going to have to be replaced and the set adjusted with the Mitsubishi remote. This can be a do it yourself repair for some people with basic skills and parts cost from a site I know will be under 30 dollars. In addition I have my own start to finish, step by step instructions for this which are available if you provide a email address. They tell you everything you will need and precisely how to do the repair. Once you have and read them you can decide if you can do the repair or not--shops usually get over 200 dollars parts and labor for this repair.I attach a photo of the fuses (on middle board) and what the chips look like (also on middle board at the front)
like this but will have the 570 number on them.

Mitsubishi WS55809 - tv won't stay on
Check the fuses soldered on the board, mine just went out and i have two blown fuses. A 5 amp and a 3 amp 125 volt. Also you can check the diagnostic mode hold the menu and the input on the tv for 5 seconds. If the light blinks twice and then 2 more times that means there is a short (bad fuses)

Mitsubishi projection tv ws 55313 video board
Sounds like you got a tech with no experience who just wanted out---most of the boards are not available but most can be sent out to PTS Electronics who will repair/rebuilt them. The one thing that makes them unrepairable is if glycol has got on them, but even that can be fixed.Too expensive a set to just walk away===find someone with experience on Mitsubishi who does authorized service on this brand.

WD-67535 doesn't turn on
Hello,The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge. The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.All these can be checked on the power supply board. But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others. The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes. What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point). You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue. If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.I hope this helps.Regards.

The picture flickers occasionally. I am wondering
The WS-55809 is a rear projection TV and does not have a bulb, it has 3 picture tubes. DLP and LCD Projection sets have bulbs, or mercury vapor lamps. Does your picture flicker equally with different inputs?

I have a mits ws-55511
Hi Dennis,
"12" means that there's no error detected by the processor.
If the unit power up for 1 hour or so and then gone to subsequent shutdown, I would advice you to clean the air vent of the unit, exhaust fan, and avoid any obstruction to ensure sufficient air flow that may caused excessive heat build up and will trigger the thermal protection circuit.
