I have a projection television ws 55809 it turn off everytime i try to turn it on i did the test an 22 was the code what is it and how do i fix it
What you have is short protection--it means one of two pico fuses on the middle board is bad and it and the two STK-392-570 chips it uses for convergence are going to have to be replaced and the set adjusted with the Mitsubishi remote.This can be a do it yourself repair for some people with basic skills and parts cost from a site I know will be under 30 dollars.In addition I have my own start to finish, step by step instructions for this which are available if you provide a email address.They tell you everything you will need and precisely how to do the repair. Once you have and read them you can decide if you can do the repair or not--shops usually get over 200 dollars parts and labor for this repair.I attach a photo of the fuses (on middle board) and what the chips look like (also on middle board at the front)
like this but will have the 570 number on them.
Flashing green light when i hit power botton.
2 blinks and 2 blinks is the error code for short protection---usually in this set the most common cause is a bad convergence chip that has shorted; it takes out one or two pico fuses in the set's power supply---the set detects no voltage to the convergence chips and shuts down.
Almost any good tech can do this repair in your home in about a hour or less--shops charge 300-400 for this kind of repair--look in your area and find someone who has done this brand before--I do lots of them here for 200-250 depending on model---This is the slow time of year for TV repair shops so look around--if someone says it "has to go to the shop" keep looking.
I have detailed start to finish instructions (verify the model number to me) for doing this repair; If you have the skill to do it yourself--you can buy the chip on Ebay A WS-55809 model uses a single STK-393-110 chip---about 14 dollars on Ebay plus shipping----let me know if you want the instructions and if you have questions reply to this post here.

Mitsubishi WS 55809
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

You need to replace the two STK-392-570 convergence chips this set uses along with any of the 3.9 ohm protect resistors in front of them that are bad.
The best way to do this is to get the middle board with the chips out of the set---
I have START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR ON THIS MODEL--they tell you everything you will need and how to do it yourself.
You can buy a pair of the Chips on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping (I can tell you the seller there to look for--I buy the chips I use there).
If you have the original remote after you replace the chips etc--you adjust the convergence with it.
These are very good sets and were not cheap when new.
If you want the instructions let me know--I cannot post My email here, but you..........

Turns off immediately after turned on
Do the self check it should have: when shuts down and green light goes out: On the front of the set press and hold both input and menu buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both.
Power light on set should blink a two digit error code: like 2 blink,2 blink, pause and repeat it at least 5 times total.
Let me know what error code and I will tell you what it means.

Mitsubishi WS55809 - tv won't stay on
Check the fuses soldered on the board, mine just went out and i have two blown fuses. A 5 amp and a 3 amp 125 volt. Also you can check the diagnostic mode hold the menu and the input on the tv for 5 seconds. If the light blinks twice and then 2 more times that means there is a short (bad fuses)

Sounds like you got a tech with no experience who just wanted out---most of the boards are not available but most can be sent out to PTS Electronics who will repair/rebuilt them.The one thing that makes them unrepairable is if glycol has got on them, but even that can be fixed.Too expensive a set to just walk away===find someone with experience on Mitsubishi who does authorized service on this brand.

If no sound or picture does the green power light (based on model number WS-55809) come on when you turn set on and a few seconds later go out?
