Vertical and Horizontal roll on a Mitsubishi

The vertical and Horizontal IC's would need to be replaced on this TV. Now you can have this repaired for under $100 bucks if you know how to solder and repair this TV. But both IC's integrated circuits will need to be replaced on both horizontal and Vertical respectively.

I hope this helps you.

My mitsubishi vs-60705 has very poor picture

It may be a convergence problem...but not sure based on your description.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Vs-60705

My Mitsubishi Model VS-60705 did the same thing a couple of years ago...A TV repair facility replaced the Video card. Any repair facility that works on rear-projection TV's should be able to repair your set. I bought the set on Jan 1, 2000. Coming up on 9 years and the set works like new.

You need to take your tv in and have the picture deflector re-aligned.  This doesn't cost much, My dad had to do that to his a few months ago and it cost 30 bucks.

Mitsubishi VS-60705 - picture flutters vertically and horizontally

This sounds like one of the 9 volt regulators on the small signal board is going bad, supplying less than 8 volts. I have seen this is several of those sets. The IC needs to be replaced and if you do not have experience in servicing projection TV's then I suggest letting a qualified tech handle it for you.

VS-60705 60

The picture is flipped left-to-right or is upside-down or both. This cannot happen as a result of a failure. For a CRT-based TV or monitor, it almost certainly means that the wires to the horizontal or vertical deflection yoke have been swapped to enable the picture to appear correct when viewed via a mirror (horizontal only) or if the unit were mounted base-up to a ceiling (both). The remedy is simply to swap the two wires to the relevant deflection yoke(s). There may even be obvious splices to guide you. There is usually a connector with 4 relatively fat wires that go to the deflection yoke on the CRT neck (NOT the PCB attached to the tube base). If you don't have a schematic, trace these on the main PCB back to their origin. The horizontal will originate somewhere in the vicinity of the flyback transformer. It may be possible to disengage the wires from the connector shell and swap them there. If not, cut, splice, and solder. Adjustment of the appropriate centering controls may be needed. For flat panel displays, it is even more unlikely this would happen as a result of a hardware failure. Most likely, there is a mode setting in the one of the setup menus for the TV or monitor itself. It could also be in the receiver for the TV, or the driver or application software of the PC. If the source is a video projector, the menu setting is likely there, to select between front and rear projection (horizontal) or table or ceiling mount (both). So, don't bother to open up the flat panel TV or monitor. The problem is not there! :)
