Mitsubishi ws-65807 error code 2-2

2,2 error is short protection in this model.

WHAT IT MEANS IS ONE OF THE TWO FUSES THAT PROTECT THE CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT IS BLOWN; This model uses 2 of the STK-392-570 CONVERGENCE chips---

I have photos of the fuses etc--fuses and chips are located on the middle circuit board which would have to be removed to repair. I also have step by step start to finish instructions for this repair in this model.

If the parts needed are purchased on EBAY (I can tell you the name of a seller there) total parts cost is under 25 dollars and repair takes about one hour.

Many shops will not do this repair in the home and most will get 250 plus for it not counting pickup and delivery.

How handy are you? I can post the instructions and photos here if you respond to this answer by "add a comment".

Sounds like an issue with the DM pcb. most likely some small electrolytic capacitors. you will need to remove DM pcb & take cover off. look for capacitors with bulging tops. note the values & location & replace all capacitors with bulging tops.

"on" light flashes twice and then "blacks out"

IF power light comes on and a few seconds later goes off, do the self check this model has.

On front of set when this happens, press and hold both the menu and input (device) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

Watch the power light closely, it should blink a two digit error code like; 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and then repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

How do I fix a convergence problem for Ws-65909

You have come to the right person:all parts in this model for the convergence are located on middle board. If set comes on and shuts off (green power light goes out) do the self check: press and hold (you may know or have done this) both the menu and input buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both.Power light will blink a 2 digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it several times. That is short protect and a 98% chance one or both (usually one) of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit have blown.I will add some photos here one of the single IC this set uses for this, one of the protect resistors in front and to one side of it, and one showing the pico fuses (ones for the chip are circled) A note= I have fixed a lot of these and have composed instructions which are based on doing it---tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair from start to finish--step by step.I will not post them here as other experts will copy them and I spent some real time composing them.If you want they are free--provide me a email address and I will forward them to you for free.I have fixed almost a thousand of these sets (Mitsubishi) with this problem.Copy and save the photos and let me know (you can post a comment here) if you have questions or want the instructions.SD TECH 3_23_2012_3_56_38_pm.jpg3_23_2012_3_57_23_pm.jpgthe photo for the fuses will not load---on middle board to left and towards the rear--green and location numbers 9fao4 and 05--both are marked 5 amp,.

How do I fix The blinking light some say it the

ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard2_bing.gif of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.
