that problem is commonly cause of faulty capacitors..
faulty capacitors can cause power on off intermitedly until your tv can't come ON totally..
1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the main TV chassis..The service manual teach you how to access the chassis..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter..
Hi, if the set is shutting down it should blink a code. Try pushing in the menu and input buttons on the set both at the same time and hold them in for 8 seconds to see if the self diagnosis will falsh a two digit code. Let me know what happens.
Ok yours is a 12 code means the TV is not shutting down for protective purposes. You will no doubt need a service manual to check the power supplies as its probably something real minor in the start up or stand by voltages that is preventing the set from starting. I have a link where you can get the service manual and they provide free support to heklp you diagnose and repair your TV with the purchase of the manual. If you would like the link let me know. They email the service manual after purchase.
There are (4) 1000uf @35V capacitors all together on the DM board that need to be replaced some models have 1000uf @ 16V but they are all right beside each other and all rated at 1000ufs the voltages will be stamped on the capacitor along with the uf ratings.
Find the button said inputs in ur remote control, press that button, will see inputs like 1,2,3.Ur Xbox 360 video/audio should be in one of those inputs.
I believe the reason you do not have sound on these channels is that somehow the SAP button was pressed. The SAP is "separate audio program" it is used to hear the program in a different language if available. If the SAP is turned on and that channel is not broadcasting a SAP signal then you would have no audio.
I am not sure on a universal remote which button , would be used to change the audio settings. You may be able to access the settings from the menu button on the TV. Go to one of the channels that has the problem, press the menu button on the set and look for Audio settings, switch the audio program from SAP to normal audio.
You would have to do this for each channel that has the SAP displayed.
As of now, there are no firmwares upgrades available for this set. Firmware upgrades are only available for sets - WD-60738, WD-65738, WD-73738, WD-82738, WD-65838, WD-73838, WD-82838.
Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the convergence ICs going bad and needs to be replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs(STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
This unit s common problem is a fluid leak on the chasey from one or more of the tubes it leaks on the chasey maybe only one or two drops but after a period of time it causes a corrosion on the chasey and things like this happen you have to get a lamp or flash light and look in the tv to see if this is happening be surre to unplug tv
Hi, Blinking Green light on tv front shows that some thing is wrong with internal circuits of tv, since tv was moved from one place to other so in my opinion, problem would be some lose connections or dry soldering joints on circuit boards. Visual check is needed by qualified tv technician to find out dry soldering joints and resoldering them will fix the tv problem. Please check with local tv repair shop. Hope this info will help you. Thanks.
Take the original Mitsubishi remote and remove the batteries. Install new fresh batteries and then try to operate the set. Do not try to use any of the inputs that are active. Just check menu funtions with the mits remote. All kinda irrational stuff happens when multiple and universal remotes get involved. If this a model remote that has a selector switch at the top for choosing tv/sat/vcr, etc make sure it's on tv.
