Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV - Page 6 Questions & Answers
TV only formats at 480i
Check in your instruction manual to see if the set can actually work in 1080i. Most of the sets going back about 4 to 6 years ago were not capable of working in 1080i.
The signal coming to your Sat box may be in 1080i, but your Sat box has to be able to output 1080i. This can be quickly verified by calling the support for your service and giving them the model number of their Sat box.

Green timer light no picture
Also known as the Green Blinking Light of Death. The repair on this is cheap but very time consuming and wit no gaurentees. There are 4 Capacitors on the DM board and 4 Capacitors on the Formatter board that are more than likely defective and need to be replaced. On the DM board the locations are C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4. They will probably be swollen. On the Formatter board the locations are C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27. Also will probably be swollen. The values of all 8 capacitors are the same. 1000MF/16V. Replace with value 680MF/16V.While you have the chassi ripped apart, check the power supply board as well. You should fine some swolle caps on it also. Replace with same value of the one you remove. Now once all of this is done and you put everything back togeather, you have a 50/50 chance of success. I have found that many surface mount caps can also go bad on the formatter board. If your repair does not work, then replace all of the surface mount caps on the formater board that are 10 and 16 volts.Good luck to you.
Mitsubishi diamond series tv
I have a 2003 mitsubishi WS-55711. While watching TV the other day it just shut off. When I pressed the power button, the green light turned on for approximately 3 secs, then shuts off. I've attempted to simply unplug it for a period of time in hopes that it would possibly reset. However, the same thing happens. Is this a problem I can fix on my own or does a professional need to fix it? If I do have a pro fix it, what is the likelyhood that it will happen again? Should I just invest in a new TV? Thanks
Green light keeps blinking
Thats a very common problem with that model which is the V26 chassis. usually what happens is the capacitors on the DM and the power boards drain and then when power is testored the caps wont recharge. usually installing the V26 DM / Power repair kit which is listed at the top of the following page fixes the steady blinking led issue on that model DLP in about 80% of the cases the other 20% will have other issues but since your set lost power for over a few minyues i would assume its the capacitors.

Mitsubishi WD 62525 will not turn on
Just check whether any electrolytic capacitors you have changed recently have placed in reverse polarity. Electrolytic capacitors will have both (+ve) and ( -ve ) polarity, marked on them. The circuit board too will have these markings, and the legs of the capacitors must coincide with these markings. If any one among them has been placed in reverse direction, the voltage rail to which this capacitor has connected will go very low, and a short circuit indication blinking will occur. Check this first.
NO SOUND
Did you go through the setup menu in the owner's manual? If not, that's the problem! THere is a menu in the TV internal software that gives you choices you NEED TO READ. Among them is the choice of audio!
Yellow light keeps blinking
If the status light is blinking yellow it means the filter cover is open ( On the left side of televison)
If the lamp light is blinking yellow it means the lamp cover door is open. ( Behind front lower panel) If both covers appear intact the switches may be defective or not engaging properly.
Wd525 ahs no picture a clicking sound in the tv
Hi,
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
Let me know the Error Code, so that i could proceed.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Mitsubishi 1080p 73'' DLP HDTV - Color distortion
This would be the little sensor on the light wheel. Its cheap, you can get them online for around $2. You will need to take the light engine out and remove the color wheel cover and remove the color wheel and then remove the sensor. You will have to desolder the sensor and remove it to replace with the new one. What is happening is the sensor is overheating and not tracking the color wheel properly there for the colors get messed up. Once you replace the sensor the tv should work like normal. The part is (Sharp GP2S40 Photointerrupter). It is very difficult to find because they are not made anymore. Most major online part stores do not carry them but I found a lot of them at Wright Hobbies. Good luck.

No picture or sound on my mitsubishi dlp
The set should have the standard self check which even if it does not make it on would indicate where the problem might be: Note that if you unplugged the set it will delete the errors, you have to in that case turn back on and when it fails do the check again.
