My Mitsubishi tv will not turn on.

If you have the owner's manual, you will find that the blinking light is an indicator that the lamp or fan is the problem. I'm not sure of your model number. Can you confirm that model please? If you no longer have the manual, once you confirm the model number, I can look up the code for you. Given its age, I would suspect that the lamp needs to be replaced.

Please post the model number and I will confirm.

Thanks,
Dan

Blinking light of death wd-52725 blinks green wont

Please let me know if you can get any sound at all out of your unit.
solution

I had a similar problem. I had a 52" RCArear projection tv. It would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few "on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because of green light on the panel). The power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights.

You may very well have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors

Posted a short while ago but have more information

have you checked the lamp? with those models they will power up and if the lamp is bad you can hear audio until the tv shuts off. the lamp is located in the front behind the speaker grill assembly. if the "status" light is blinking then you are having a fan failure if the "lamp" light is on then check the lamp like i listed above.

Bad Capacitors on the power supply board might be the problem, or Ballast board that powers Lamp on could be defective. Mats Has Lamps for $89.00 1-800-628-1118

I have a WD-52725. Lost power due to a power

The green led flashing problem has been a major issue in these models. What has caused this is many capacitors across 5 boards are either out of tolerance or on the edge of being out right bad. When you had the power outage, it allowed the voltages to drain off the circuits and the capacitors cannot charge up properly thus not work in the circuits as they need to. The bad news is there is really only one way to fix the set correctly and that involves removing the main chassis cluster and sending it to Mitsubishi for refurb. They do not make the boards available anymore, so they will rebuild the ones in your chassis. Factoring the cost of this, around 800.00. I would check out what you can replace the set with. The way LCD sets have dropped in cost to buy it really does not pay to fix it.
I hope this helps,

51 inch TV power light

Hi,

The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to.

I do not think it needs replacement, rather some defective capacitors are causing this issue.
Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors).
After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

Hi.

Since you have purchased the kit, you probably know this chassis has a lot of problems, extending from PSU to DM and light engine, to digital and even affecting terminal board and tuner.

Repairing this model often require long testing hours done at component level, until you find a blown resistor or something and you replace caps and components nearby. Check the components in convergence circuit, and rplace the STK ICs. That is almost ordinary maintainance after many years of use. If that does not fix the problem, then you have a long and painful testing to be done on different circuits. Here one of the threads listing some of the problems with this chassis.

This may be a model that has two mirrors. Mitsubishi could tell you if this is the case.

Some idiot had the bright idea to have optical unit shine picture into tiny mirror which puts it into large mirror in back; problem is tiny mirror if there is at bottom and facing up, dust or dirt get on it and picture brightness will diminish up to 70% or more.

If model you own does have two mirrors, the front of the set with the screens will have to be removed to clean it, not real hard and takes 15 minutes.

If you can confirm it has two mirrors I can tell you step by step how to remove screen unit and resolve problem. Usually if tiny mirror dirty it will happen over time, picture will gradually get darker and dull looking.

Let me know if want instructions, the set either has two mirrors or it does not.

Question...whenever I unplug the TV (to vacuum,

All these sets have a DM unit, when set is unplugged and plugged back the green light should blink for about 70 seconds and then stop--when it stops you can turn the set on.

This is the DM unit booting up like a computer--fyi, not a good idea to do this on too regular a basis.

If this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Lamp light comes on and

Hi.

That means that the lamp must be replaced. The lamp indicator comes on when the lamp is over the max life hours. If you cut off the the power you reset the TV and the lamp is allowed working for some hour before turning off. This is not a good practice, as a drained lamp has a different power draw and may damage the ballast board.
