Sounds like there may be some coronal arcing in the second anode circuit connection to the CRT's. (20,000 vdc High Voltage!) This usually occurs when contamination and moisture build up a resistance path around the cap at the connection point, or any point where the leads may be contacting the metal chassis would do that also. WARNING: If you have no experience with this, DO NOT attempt to solve it yourself. This voltage has lethal potential, and the CRT's can have capacitive storage of it, even if the unit IS OFF! Seek a qualified service person to help you!

My mitsubishi diamond series wd-62825 picture is too dark

There is something I remember and it may be the model you have---Mitsubishi can tell you or you can look for yourself----a few models made at about the time this set was made had 2 mirrors----one a tiny one that faces up and reflects the picture into the large rear mirror.Dumb idea--the little mirror gets coated with dust and brightness drops up to 70%---The safe and correct way to know is to remove the entire front screen with its frame---both mirrors (if yours has 2) will be easy to see.The large mirror hangs at a angle and down so it never gets dirty--don't even think of touching it or using glass cleaner on it--any mark on it will show in the picture.let me know if you want to remove screen unit to see if one mirror or two---a call to mitsubishi would answer that.

How do i remove the back of a 61 inch mitsubishi television?

The lamp on this is located (should be) on the front behind the large removable plate beneath the front screen unit.with that removed and set unplugged you will see the lamp door--remove it and take the lamp out.I would suggest you look on You Tube as dozens of these sets have start to finish VIDEO instructions for this process.

Playstation 3 does not output

Is your girlfriend's television higher resolution? If so, the ps3 may be configured to output a signal that is too high for your mitsubishi. With the ps3 off, insert either the component or the rgb to the back. The turn on the main ps3 power switch so that the red led turns on. then hold down the 'power on' button. it will beep initially, then beep after about 3 seconds. This simply resets the output to the connected cable in a normal resolution.

If this fails go to settings>video output> and play around with the settings there. note you may have to do this on ur girlfriends tv to be able to see what you're doing...

The red light keeps blinking

Hello,

The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.

All these can be checked on the power supply board.

But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

I hope this helps.

Blinking green light will not

Hi Jay,

This symptom indicated two major caused why blinking led light appear.

1. Faulty(busted) lamp will trigger this symptom, the problem is you can only justify this by swapping a new/working lamp like what the repair shop do. The lamp can't be test by multimeter.

2. Missing Voltages in the output of power supply section - this is caused by leaky/dried capacitor which will drop the voltage and make the unit disable. Sometimes it has a bulged at the top but not all. You must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition. Open fusible resistror in line with shorted voltage regulator transistor will also shows the same symptom. Also, bad solder joints in that area is going to consider because it will affect the regulation of the supply.

If you don't have necessary tools and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to troubleshoot the problem.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a Mitsubishi projection tv WD62825G.

HI, i have the same problem. I had a tech come out and he was like this is the second one of these today! He said the chassis needed to be rebuilt. 300.00 for the chassis and 80.00 for shipping and another 250.00 to install. I called MItsubishi and they offered me a 65838 for the same price plus 200.00 shipping. So i sent them a money order and received my t.v 1-14-11 only to open the box and the screen was broken right under the glare cover. Now i have to have a tech come out and ***** the t.v to see what Mitsubishi will do. What a pain in the ***. I will never buy a Mitsubishi again. Good luck.
