If the green power light comes on for a few seconds at turn on and goes out do the self check this set has(I will be here on and off for a while):when light goes out on the front of the set press and hold BOTH the menu and input (input can be labeled source on some models) for at least five seconds and release both buttons.Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.Let me know what error code if any is found and I will direct you.Note that if you have removed power from the set that will clear the error code and give you a 1,2 error which of course is no error--you have to plug set up and try again to turn it on and do the self check when it fails.SD TECH

It just blew it's power supply. There could be a fuse or reset inside but not likely. It likely needs a voltage rectifier, voltage regulator, or a diode or a resistor, perhaps an IC. Find a factory authorized technician (they have schematics and oscilloscopes)

The power supply regulator section circuit inside should be troubleshooted.

Based on the model number first thing to do is with original remote look for a aspect button.Also look to see if set does this with tuner and any rear inputs as well.

Turn the set on, then when it shuts down, press the INPUT and MENU buttons (may be DEVICE and MENU, depending on the model) on the front panel together and hold them down for at least 6 seconds. This should cause the front LED to flash a 2 digit code. If it flashes once, then twice, then pauses and repeats, it means that the TV's computer
didn't detect a problem. I'm expecting you will get a 2 flash, then another 2 flash code.

To determine what your problem is:

UNPLUG TV ANDTHEN PLUG BACK IN---TURNON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT ANDGOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.


Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.


IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM
