Need some info tv turns on then goes off

Good Day,

Try these:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

I cant get high def 1080-i to work on my mitsubishi 55807

IYou have to have your comcast box tuned to a channel that is broadcast in HD. On your Comcast remote hit menu. This will bring up several icons, one is HD. Select that icon and it will bring up the TV Guide for just HD channels. Select one and tune to that channel. Once your on that channel use your original remote and hit menu, then advance features, then go down to video display and change it from 480 to 980 or 1080. Let me know if this helps.

Pink screen

Rick, Check the convergence Ic's on the foil side for any hairline cracks in the solder joints and re-solder them if you find any... Other than that you may need to replace the convergence Ic's and possible some of the yoke return resistors. What you're seeing on the screen is an absence of one of the colors, blue from what you're describing and that may just be one of the amps is missing voltage due to ring cracks.

Cable box

Yes, this TV will need a converter box if you are getting off-the-air reception. It does not have a DTV tuner built in (too old) although is a high-def capable set.

TV picture curves

This is a convergence problem and is usually either bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Locate the convergence ICs (large black Ics attached to a heat sink and marked STKxxx). Resolder the pins first. If that fails to resolve the problem replace the ICs.

Keep us posted.
