SC542 means that the thermistor hasn't detected right temperature in given time.

Often you only have to reset service code.




Try this reset:

• Press and hold online + escape, then power on.
• Use up and down arrow keys to select SP2
• Press Enter
• Use up and down arror to locate SP5
• Press Enter
• Use up and down arrow keys to select 810
• Press Enter
• Confirm the selection
• Power off and on.

• Press Mode(The Yellow Button)
• Enter 107
• Press STOP Button for 3 second (RED Button)
• Copy Sp
• 5810#
• Execute
• Power Off

well this is because when you replace the powder it never has the same quality this is because there are always traces of old toner and it mixes together even though it is compatible dosent mean its exactly the same never use refills its a waste of time and money these company's make me sick saying the quallity is the same most of the time they instruct you to make a hole and cover it with a stupid bit of tape and other times there is a refill hole but this is not for us to use it is for a factory so a machine can blast air into it to make sure it is clean and then refill it

if you insist on refilling again use an air gun to remove all of the toner then it will be slightly better but it will never be as good

SC 500 : Main motor lock

Symptom:
A main motor lock signal is not
detected for more than 7 consecutive
checks (700 ms) after the main motor
starts to rotate, or the lock signal is not
detected for more than 7 consecutive
checks during rotation after the last
signal

Possible Cause:
• Too much load on the drive
mechanism
• Main motor defective

in Indian rupee 2810 + 4% tax

sc 550 is main motor error. i think the main motor needs replacing

ther is a paper jam in the machine, open the side cover and remove the paper jam, if the paper is not visible then there is a small piece stuck somewhere.

SC 390 TD sensor error

The TD sensor outputs less than 0.5V

or more than 4.0V 10 times

consecutively during copying.

• TD sensor abnormal

SC 322 is as follows.

322 C 1st laser synchronization error The 1st laser synchronization signal cannot be detected by the main scan synchronization detector board even if the laser diodes are activated.

Causes
• Poor cable connection between the laser synchronization detector board and the LD unit.
• Laser synchronization detector board out of position and angle of reflection not correct
• Laser synchronization detector board defective
• LD unit defective

Basically there is something wrong with the laser unit. It is possible to take it out by removing the front of the copier between the paper tray and paper output deck. UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING DON'T DO IT. There is a laser in the unit that can cause instant blindness if you defeat the interlocks or repair it incorrectly. An experienced engineer would unplug the machine remove the unit, remove the top cover and clean the mirrors and glasses inside the laser unit without removing any of them, also check that the ribbon cable is correctly plugged in durin reinstallation.

Low fuser temperature during warm up. This means that the heater lamp is not coming on or if it is the machine can not see the heat. This is most commonly caused in these Ricoh's by thermister failure. The thermister is a small electronic part that reads or monitors the temperature of the heat roller. The thermister fails, the machine fails to see the machine heating up and pop goes the SC542. The thermisters are pretty in-expensive at around $20.00. The expensive part is usually the labor to have a tech come out and change them.

You can see the existing user codes in this machine please fallow the procedure:
press usertoos/Counter button - then go to system settings and press ok button - go to key operator tools and press ok button - go to address book managment and press ok button - it will ask you the one search number give 001 and press ok button - it willask you name or displayes existing name simply press ok button - it will display an other window their you con find the user code option please press the user code button you con see the existing user code the exit and use that code to use the machine.

Other wise if you want to remove the user code option go to usertools/counter and go to systems settings and go to key operator tools and go to user code managment and sellect OFF by using up/down arro key and press ok button and exit switch OFF/ON machine directly come to copy mode- thanks

the copier does not use driver
u need to connect it using network cable (cross over if its only to one computer)
assigne ip address subnet mask and gate details
connec to the copier via ur web brouser ising that ip address
log in user name admin no password
go to address book and set up a user and the path to where u wana save
plus domain name workgroup all authenticatin detail and have a shared folder on ur computer with read and write rites enabled

sorry to say this but if u r not fammilia with connectivity side of things ull find it very difficult

fuser error temperature over /under
ull need service engineer to reset it
or new lamp,thermistor or thermostat
