It is like my function key is always on. i cannot

Deactivate the scroll lock key by pressing it one more time. The Scroll lock (Pause) key is a remnant of the old text-based displays. It works in DOS mode. Also unlock CAPS key. The Fn key is a control key for the Function keys (F1-F12) and sometimes the ESC key also.

I have a 3 year old asus eee PC and it is running like a dog! Help!!!

It's an ATOM CPU @ 1.6GHz and should be running XP. Do you still have 1GB of RAM? Upgrade to 2GB if possible. Get rid of Win 7. Get rid of Ubuntu. I got an old dog myself, and I just installed Ubuntu. Slow, but it's dual boot.

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as faulty fan lead can cause you problems

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all power and data leads make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU central processing unit make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

No display upon turn on

Did you press and hold the FN function key plus the key that toggles the display? In your case it might be the FN+F8 if F8 is the key that toggles the display.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad. Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If the video shows on the external monitor that proves your video card is ok, ,but your lcd screen is bad. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display. If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

If your video card is bad you will not see anything on the laptop's lcd screen or the external monitor.

How to format asus lamtop

This computer should have what is referred to as a "Recovery Partition". Essentially, it is a section of the hard-drive that holds all of the files that were originally on the computer. When you first turn the laptop, repeatedly tap the F9 key. It should bring you to the recovery wizard which, if you follow the dialog boxes, will allow you to set it back to factory defaults.

My asus notebook seems stuck

you need to delete the "hiberfil.sys" file, prolly in the windows or windows/system32 directory.

you could try to boot form usb using a trimmed-down linux distro, or you oucld take the hard drive out of the netboo, and hook it up as a secondary drive to a working computer.

Wd 11 error code:0xc0000034

The last line of your error message contains the solution: "You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disk or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer." Translation: Start up from the disk that came with your laptop and follow repair tool instructions (or contact the manufacturer to obtain a copy - which you may possibly need to purchase. If you are not under warranty this will possibly be at a reduced cost.) Look for a label on the bottom of your pc for a phone number for service if your equipment is not useable. Good luck!

check using the onscreen keyboard or you can also check with an external keyboard to see if the same issue occurs with those. if it does the issue could be a software related. you can go to device manager, under keyboards uninstall the Keyboard Device and restart the computer.

ASUS Rog 750 g750jw on laptops in general, its on the bottom of the case on some remove the battery pack and its a sticker inside there. on newer laptops, the deleted stickers (deemed ugly) so is deep hidden. BIOS pages are it. i look at your mobo, and see only stickers on the ram slots so open the ram hatch and look? I SEE ONLY THIS. i redacted it a bit, to make it neutered. PN: not this.
