Right click on your desktop (anywhere where there is no Icon) scroll down to properties (a display properties window will open) click on desktop and there you could change your background.. If you want to use anything else that is not on the background options, just right click on whatever you want to use and scroll down to set as desktop wallpaper...

Notebook with OS means it comes with the Operating System (Windows XP, Windows 7, UNIX, or something already running on it)Notebook without OS means that you will be purchasing a notebook without an operating system and need to install one yourself. In short, a notebook without an OS is useless... unless you already own a licensed operating system that you are going to install yourself.Hope this helps you-Ben

When the window opens it will give you tabs, pick the one you want to change and click on it
and change what you need to change.

You will need to start your computer in the "Safe Mode", you do this by tapping F8 while the computer is starting up.
Once the computer has started, select "Safe Mode"
Once you are in the safe mode, then you will double left click on "Start">Control Panel>User Accounts>Change an Account.
Now you can change your password,delete the account,etc.

Open Control panel and select Cameras and scanners.
Can you see an icon for the camera?
Double click icon.

Hi

we dont know what operating system you are running

so here are a few quides which may help

if you have a picture that you want as desktop background
go to the picture and click on it
then right click it and go down to and press
set as desktop background that should then put that picture there for you

or go to start
control panel
appearance/personalization
and either choose

change the theme
change desk top background

different operating systems deals with this in slightly different ways

A PC repair clinic would sort out this and I wouldn't be to to costly, if you wish to sort this yourself and have another internet accessible pc and pen drive you can create a live CD of Orphcrack on the pen drive and boot it on startup:

according to my assessment, your numlock function is on.

If you're writing numbers instead of letters when you press the keyboard of your laptop and you must hold down the Function key (Fn) to write normally.

This is due to the fact that the digital lock is activated. To solve this, simply press the Fn+Numlk or depending of the model, press the button or Fn + Shift +Numlk

it looks like you have closed the wireless connection.
You can enabled it by pressing fn + f9 button.

Check if the harddrive is detected in BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) setup by pressing F2..or F12 (depends on what key is designed for the BIOS setup).

- If the harddrive is detected in the BIOS (usually shows the harddrive name or values beside "Drive 0"), your operating system is corrupted. You need an operating system disc to install it.

- If the harddrive is not detected in the BIOS ( no value beside "Drive 0"), either the harddrive cable is loose, the harddrive is not inserted properly or is defective. Check the harddrive compartment at the bottom of the laptop and use screw driver to reveal it. Try to reinsert it or use a good known hard drive.

windows 7 starter lacks the OS needed for some normal operations like changing backgrounds and some gadgets amongst others ok sorry ive actually tried everything on my friends netbook and no luck :( sorry

On your laptop look in the lower left corner for a key labeled with the letters "fn", in blue letters.
Look on the upper row of keys near the right side for a key with "num lk", "num lock" or an icon that appears to show a calculator.
Hold down the fn key while you press the other key, when you release both keys this mode will be turned off and the key will again function normally.

What can you do if the laptop LCD screen turned completely white? From my experience I can tell that this problem may be related to the following:
1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).
Here's an example of a laptop with white screen. When you turn on the laptop, it starts but the image on the screen is completely white right from the beginning. In my case it was a Toshiba Satellite M45 laptop but this problem may occur with any other brand.


Most likely you still can use the laptop with an external monitor. Just connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of your laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.
On Toshiba laptops you can toggle between internal and external screens using Fn+F5 keys. Hold down Fn and press on F5 until you get video on the external monitor.
On IBM laptops use Fn+F7.
On HP laptops use Fn+F4.
It's possible that you have to use a different key combination on your laptop but you get the idea.
On some laptops, in order to be able to use the external monitor, you have to connect it to the laptop and then restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop.
I noticed that in some cases the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. If you want to check this connection, you'll have to take apart the display panel because the connector is located on the back side of the LCD screen.
These laptop service manuals and disassembly instructions may be useful.
I always check the video cable connection first. Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem.
If reconnecting the video cable doesn't help, most likely you have a problem either with the LCD screen or with the motherboard.
The best way to find out witch one is causing the problem is testing the laptop with another working LCD screen. Without this test you'll have to guess because as I mentioned before this could either bad motherboard or bad LCD screen.
You'll have to disconnect the video cable from the LCD screen (connector 2) and the inverter board (connectors 3 and 1). After that you connect another working screen and test video.
For this purpose I'm using one of my test LCD screens. My test screen is cracked and because of that you see a wide white band in the center but it still works fine for this test.
The original screen is white but my test screen works normal (except the crack of course) and I can see the image. After this test I can tell that the problem must be related to the screen.
After I assembled everything back together and connected the original LCD, it's still white.
CONCLUSION. In my case this problem is related to the LCD screen and it has to be replaced.

I suggest that you upgrade your Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.
