Your BIOS is very unlikely to be at fault.Try booting from a USB stick, or onto a Windows/Linux installation CD/DVD.

there is problem with your hard disk. your hard disk wire may be loose. try to remove and refix all sata wires of your hard disk. "operating system not found" message may be coming because you may have not installed any os (windows, linux or mac) in your notebook. try to install operating to system to fix this. there may also be proble with your hard disk, your hard disk may be dead. if your notebook is showing message "operating system not found" without any reason then you may have put your notebook in high magnetic field area. due to high magnetic field, sometimes hard disk's are formatted automatically.

Try another AC outlet, try another cord/charger of the EXACT same power spec. Has the AC jack in the computer been damaged by pulling on the cord? Power surge? With a multimeter, verify DC volts at ac cord plug. Is the Laptop usually left plugged it when not in use? Do you shut it down and unplug when not in use?

I suggest you to re-install your windows.Also try to use Intel Software Partner Reginout to avoid such type of crashes in future.

try to re install the software for the battery indicator, if no effect replacing the battery will do the job
