I'm sorry, but the speed cannot be changed without the remote.

Something is stopping the tape from fully loading.Do you have young children? Very often the kids will "post" something through the cassette flap. Remove the top cover & look inside the mechanism for any unusual object or its also possible something in the tape alignment path has broken which will also be lying inside.

do you still have your remote? You may need it to go to menu - setup - auto tune, that may help you

Hi.
--make sure you have a blank tape in the VCR...
--GO TO MENU..
--your clock should show the real time..Correct it if it is not..
--select TIMER
--than select and adjust` start time` and `duration` of recording..and ` channel to be recorded `
--SAVE it..
--Turn off the video .
--you must see a small CLOCK/TIMER ICON on the LCD panel which proves that you did it..

If you are watching a tape, simply use the FF button to skip forward until you see that the commercial is over, and then press PLAY to resume playing.
If you are watching a live TV program, the short answer is - you cannot. You need a PVR or TIVO or such device to be able to do that - and even then you have to be time shifted back at least the duration of the commercial you want to skip first!

Most of the One-For-All remotes use a 4 digit code. The only one, URC-2005, that has 3 digit codes (of the ones I located) gives Orion VCR codes of 036, 088, 121, 208, 209 .

Note: remotes are limited to having codes for devices released at least 6 months before the remote was programmed. If your VCR is newer than the remote, you may need a new remote.

sounds like you activated the built in surge protector . you need to unplug it for about 10 minutes to reset the surge protector let me know if this works for you

Put a tape in and push play. The VCR will switch to VCR mode. Then stop the tape.

Hi,you should have on your remote a button call rec speed or speed
or on the front panel behind the door...some vcr got only two speed choice slp and sp mode when you find the button speed pres rec and pause then change the speed you need..
