i found that if I repeatedly press snooze/date/sleep off (big button) it will change the dim setting 3 levels... dunno how many times but I press it like 20-30 times and it works

To fix the dim brightness level, remove the battery and pull the plug out of the mains power. Leave it disconnected for at least 5 minutes then plug it back into mains power. You should find the brightness has retuned to normal. I have 3 of these Clock Radios and the picture attached shows the comparison between dim and normal. For some unknown reason they intermittently decide to dim themselves. This may be why Sony included a dimmer in the next model up ICF-C318. Anyway I hope this helps

1. Unplug. Take out battery (round). Replug. It shall glow again. 2. Reinsert same battery for the time being.3. But your battery requires replacement now.

Press the snooze button 4 times. The display toggles between lo/high brightness. ;-).

ok....here are the steps..
1. Plug in unit (display will flash "AM 12:00" or "0:00"
2. Press CLOCK for more than 2 seconds. You will hear a beep and the year will start to flash in the display.
3. Press + or - until the correct year displays.
4. Press CLOCK.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to set the month, day and time.

After setting the time, two short beeps sound and the clock starts from 0 seconds.
