Yes, it could be getting old

Sounds like the motors that control the angle and focus of the laser are going bad. Either find out what kind of replacement laser assembly would be needed and order it online, or get a new DVD player.

it could be dust inside of it if you run a dvd cleaner thru it you can get the disc at walmart or target check the dvds before you put them in to make sure no dust or finger prints

Time to take it to the Yamaha factory authorized repair facility.

Yep the lazer is gone or shot if you like.you can get a replacment at $111.00 pounds sterling.

yes sir, starting to malfunction and needs replacement now. unless you cant ry cleaning it manually maybe it will help a little but sooner or later it will again give you same trouble

please check you TV color system. you are not using the right color frequency. if your TV has got an auto color region select then set it to auto. otherwise, select the TV color mode until you get the right color frequency

even if the power button is deffective, you can have it turned on using the remote contro. if still doesn't work then you have a problem with the power supply unit. you need to have it chekced by a service personnel
