Unofrtunately there is no way to program this changer without the remote, as their buttons allow only selecting tracks between discs when they are being played.

If taking the cover off doesnt scare you, Unplug the AC and any other cables.
Take the top off the unit.
Get a can of compressed CO2 "Dust-off" or similar . Shoot a couple few sprays of that in towards the laser pickup area. Check for dust or grime anywhere near the laser area and clean.

Buy a used remote on eBay. I picked one up for around $12- with shipping and batteries.
