Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.

Good Luck, I hope this helped
My murray push lawn mower won't start
did it die right after a refueling? You might have water in your fuel can.
Which now is probably in your mower.
Drain out all the fuel *(remove the carb bowl too) Get some fresh gas *(dump your can of fuel out into a secondary container so you can look for water in it. If it has water on the bottom...you should dispose of it wherever you dispose of your mowers waste oil.
You should be sure you have spark. Which means you need to remove the spark plug from the head and with the boot still attached dangle it on the metal head and give it a pull and look for sparks. If you have no spark you might need a new plug or coil. Thats really all you can do for weak or no spark. Be sure the plug is clean and free of oil/gas contamination as that may have fouled the plug.
Good luck and be careful!
Powermore ohv
could be a number if things, dirty carb, old gas, dirty coil contacts, bad spark plug. First try replacing the spark plug and if it is old gas remove and replace with fresh. if that doesn't do it then the carb needs to be removed, cleaned and blown out thoroughly with an air compressor. reassemble and reinstall. next is to remove the recoil housing and clean the coil contacts. the coil is attached to the spark plug wire. remove and with some old gas or wd-40 and a wire brush, remove dirt and rust from contacts as well as magnet on the flywheel. be sure to leave the proper gap between the coil and flywheel when you replace the coil.
Why drive lever pushed down does not engage the front wheels of my yard machine lawn mower ?
if everything else is working fine then it has to be your drive cable or the drive motor itself. First check to see if it feels as though the cable is actually moving, slid the lever back and forth, if there is no resistance then the cable has become unattached at the lever. Next is to see if the cable is attached at the other end. you will need to follow the cable and remove the cover that to see if the cable is attached to the drive. Also, is your drive belt good? loose?
