How do you change the
The battery hatch is at the bottom of the pedometer. Just slide the hatch open with your fingers and then pry battery out. Put in the new battery in the same orientation (positive up on most). I find shaking the pedometer works to get the battery to fall out. If my fingers don't move the hatch, I use a small flat blade screwdrivers.

(on my pedometer (a similar model) the hatch is on the back with a slot to slide in a finger nail and wraps partway around the hinge)
What battery does it use
It's rechargeable and you shouldn't really try to get to it.
Lasts about 4 days on a full charge if you don't play music.
