Yamaha RX-V530 Receiver Questions & Answers
Yamaha rx 530 center channel cuts out
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I've tried using the balance for left and right speakers, and when the receiver is acting up with the right speaker having a low volume, I tried moving the balance all the way over to the right speaker. The right speaker volume will not increase in volume but the left speaker will decrease in volume.Just to clarify, the center and the rear speakers are balanced. The issue only happens sometimes when I first power on the receiver I will have no center channel. If I leave everything alone for a few mins, the center channel will come on.So it seems to me that something one the receiver is going. The question is, can anyone suggest a physical repair for the receiver for these symptoms? Thanks
My front panel display is not working.
check to make sure you don't have the dimmer down too low. you can adjust this option to make the room darker if the front panel is distracting while watching a movie etc.
The dts surround sound is not working. No signal
Your player has as much to do with this as the receiver. It must be set to transmit the DTS bitstream. Even within a given DVD movie there are choices for which of several soundtracks to be used.
Yamaha rx-v530 volume maxes out when turned on
If you are using the remote to raise the volume of the unit, my advice is to forget that function, and turn volume manually. I had a similar problem with a Sony receiver and the solution was simply to put aside the remote. Remotes are infra-red based, and if you have other components with infra-red this can cause undesired interference and malfunction. Good Luck.

Coaxial input is not functioning
Do you have the receivers "Audio Input" set to "Auto?"
There is a small button on the front of the receiver to set audio for either: "Analog, Digital, or Auto" and you can double check it in the "On Screen Menu", "Manual Setup" "Audio" Hope this helps, if you still have an issue, check the "Source"(DVD,Cable Box, etc) setup mode as well.
HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey there snowbumswerd, a power surge may have caused the problem you are experiencing. Some higher end receivers will protect themselves from damage by setting off a breaker switch. The breaker should reset if you unplug the unit from its power source for one minute, and plug it back in. This is the easiest of all fixes. The next option is to check inside for blown fuses. Please ensure the unit is completely powered down and disconnected. They may not be obvious so look carefully. Also you can check your capacitors. They are the tube shape things that look like small batteries sticking off the board. If the top of any of these has lost it's flatness or erupted, then that is your problem. You should use a professional if this is the case. Relatively simple to fix and therefore inexpensive. Hope it helps. Good Luck!
