Charging system on the engine is not charging, either the charging coil under the flywheel is bad, or the regulator is not working, you need to check what voltage/amps is coming out of the system, before doing thsi just check all the battary leeds are tight also the negative battary leed has a good earth at the chassis.

Thet drain plug is in the end of a black tube on the r/h side od the crankcase

Hi. Begin by checking your blades, if they are dull they must be sharpened or that alone will bog down the engine. Also time for a new air filter. Happy mowing. J.
