Husqvarna 16" Chainsaw Chain Saw Bar 508912166 Questions & Answers
The throttle trigger will not work on my 235e husqvarna
I'm guessing from the statement that it "will not work to increase speed" that you have been able to successfully start the chainsaw.
I have to look at this with the assumption that you haven't run a chain saw before, so bear with me if some of this is excessively simple.
If the throttle trigger does not move, something is jammed. The handle for the choke should automatically move to the retracted position when you pull on the throttle. If it doesn't, see if the trigger will move after you push the choke handle back in.
If the trigger moves in when you squeeze it but you don't hear any change in the engine sound then it's probable that the throttle wire has disconnected at the carburetor or at the handle.
Is the chain brake off? You need to pull it firmly back toward the upper handle for it to be disengaged. If the handle is forward it will lock the outer portion of the clutch. If you try to accelerate with it locked the engine will bog and not allow the chain to move.
Any of these conditions other than the chain brake will probably require some disassembly. Make sure you're confident that you've correctly reassembled everything if you're going to do it yourself.
My 235 won't oil chain
This model had many issues with oiling, there was a later reto fittable oil delivery tube to help this part no. 545227501.
When I cut,the kerf curves
While it is possible that the bar is contributing to this problem, the usual cause is uneven sharpening of the chain iteself. The side toward which the chain moves is the sharper side and is cutting moredeeply than the other. The easiest way to prove this is to replace the chain with a new one. If the bar is the problem, the new chain will behave the same way.

One thing to check is your oil/gasoline mixture. If the gasoline that you used is alcohol enhanced then if you let it sit for a period of time the alcohol evaporates and the mixture changes to more oil than gasoline mixture which makes the exhaust smoke a lot and possibly coats the plug more. Also, regular gasoline that sits in the tank for a long period of time does the same thing.
If your mixture is not at the recommended level,16/1, 40/1 or 60/1 whatever, then the oil will foul the exhaust ports on the saw and back pressure will cause the saw hard to start.
Recommended: take the muffler off of the machine and clean the exhaust ports as much as possible, scraping the built up carbon off. clean the gas tank out removing all of the mixture. Refill the tank with fresh correct mixture. Remove the spark plug and clean or replace being sure that the plug is gapped correctly.
How to start a Husqvarna 445?
Set choke to full on. To do this depress throttle all the way down and set choke lever to on. Pull starter rapidly until saw fires . Once it has fired set to start and pull starter cord until it starts. If it doesn't start in ten - twelve pulls, reset choke for two or three pulls, then switch back to start. Pull starter cord until it starts. When it starts it wii be at full R.P.Ms. Let run for twenty to thirty seconds. then move switch to run. Hope his helps, Thanks
Chain will not stay oiled
Remove the bar and chain and clean the side of the engine where the bar fits. There is an oil port there that should ooze oil out when the engine is running fairly fast. If it does, then clean the drive end of the bar (large oil holes out to the chain groove on each side. Also clean the entire groove and oil the sprocket on the outer end (if equipped). If oil did not ooze out of the port, the oil pump, oil filter, and any intervening lines should be inspected. Once you have oil proceeding from the port, reassemble the bar and chain. Check for proper oiling by running the outer tip of the bar (at speed) near to a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil onto the cardboard. Hope this helps!
