so whats the remote you have there?

What if the menu doesn't stay on long enough to get the lock setting changed Is there a way if we take the backing cover off to reset TV?

ok any one with the problem having a lock osd on the hisense plasma screen this is what you need to do to unlock the osd
you will need the tv remote control to hand ....
press the menu button on the side of the tv .. you will have a display message saying osd locked ......
now press the menu button again so the same message comes up again then press the number 9 on you original remote for the tv ...
job done osd now unlocked....... hope this helps
you can only unlock the osd with the tv remote there is no other way, so if you dont have one you will need to get one to do this.

I am not familiar with your particular TV but I have sets from 3 different makers that all handle the problem you describe a little differently via the remote provided with the TV. One uses a Format button that allows you to go through each picture type as you press the button until you find the one you like best. Another has a Pic Size button that uses a pop-up menu that allows you to use the arrow keys to scroll through each type.
