Make sure that the check band (black rubber band) is installed around a series of holes drilled into the lower part of the cylinder. This band can fall out of place when installing the cylinder ring. Good luck

Porter cable roofing nailer Rn175 not retracting

You may disassemble the channel where the nail exits. I have found issues where a burr causes the driver to hang. My issue was on a different type gun.

Porter cable air nailer leaking

It certainly sounds like you may need to replace the seals on the tool.

The two main culprits are loose screws or bad seals.

Try tightening all the screws on the unit.

If that doesnt fix then you will need to purchase an overhaul kit for your model or take to a repair shop.

Since you did not give me your model #, Here is link to locate necessary parts:

Thanks

My porter cable C2006 air compressor airs up to 30psi then shuts off at 30psi and repeats once the psi gets low enough?

it has 2 gauges , one for tank pressure and the other is the regulator output. tank pressure is on left. The pop off is starting to release because is worn and should be replaced. if unit is only making 30 pounds on tank gauge you have other problems . If that is true personally i would replace it. https://www.ereplacementparts.com/porter-cable-c2006-type-compressor-parts-c-129_1662_16249.html

Is a porter cable fr350 the same as fr350a?

The fr350a is completely different from fr350. The fr350a is completely modernized framing gun as compared to the retired version. I do not like repair kits because you are replacing parts that are still good. Instead replace parts as needed. If you state the issue you are having I may be able to recommend the actual part needed. If however you do not have any major air leaks, a lube job will make the gun work great. Use white grease or nail gun oil. Good luck with your repair.

Porter Cable Brad Nailer - Firing without pressure

The nose tip is most likely stuck in the ready to fire position from too much force being applied when nailing. These guns are small and sensitive to forces being applied. Try bumping it to see if the nose tip is retracting and compressing with each bump. Unplug and unload the gun before trying to pull the tip of the nose to retract if it is stuck. Check for foreign objects obstructing the trigger and safety mechanism

The nails in my porter cable will not slide all the way down the magazine. The seem to be suck about an inch from the plunger unit

Odds are you have a brad or part of a brad stuck in the slide. Use a flashlight & another brad or paperclip to remove the piece of nail that is blocking the slide.

I have a porter cable brad nailer that doesnt fire , it only hisses air when trigger is depressed. not fire, hiss of air when trigger is depressed it is a fn250c 16ga finish nailer

Try lubing the head valve orings with white grease instead of oil. The issue is caused when the head valve orings do not seal perfectly. Lube and retest with no more than 100 psi. Good luck with your repair
