Schwinn 820 treadmill quit working in the middle

Loss signal: 3 possible areas that can be causing the problem speed sensor , motor control Board ( MCB ) or the drive motor. Unplug unit remove motor shroud then plug in unit now on the MCB their should be L E D s lights should be on. One of the L E D s should speed on other P W M . Start your treadmill you see the PWM light flickering thus the upper console and cable connections are good now it will go back L S. Reset your treadmill then manually start pushing the running belt now the speed light should be flickering if it does then the peed sensor is good if not flickering then replace sensor. If we have a good speed sensor then I would check the Drive Motor this done unplugging the unit the disconnect the two leads coming from the motor to MCB then by using a fully charge 18v drill battery connecting the leads to the motor should move it at approx; 1 mph then Your MCB is defective and need to be replaced. if no belt movement you for the most part will have worn brushes or open windings in the motor , I would open the brush compartment and inspect the brushes if they are less than 3/8" in length replace them this should the motor issue. Good Luck

How do you adjust the slack on the belt? This

If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

Error 3 (E3) on Schwinn 240 recumbent bike. How

No speed/RPM reading, Console displays "E3" error code
Check data cable integrity All wires in cable should be intact. If any are cut or crimped, replace cable.
Check data cable connections/orientation, insure cable is connected securely and oriented properly. Small latch on connector should line up and snap into place.
Check magnet position (requires shroud removal) Magnet should be in place on flywheel. If no magnet is present, replace the flywheel or the entire base unit (if unable to replace flywheel).
Check RPM Sensor (requires shroud removal) RPM sensor should be aligned with magnet and connected to data cable. Realign sensor if necessary ( 1/8" clearance between sensor and flywheel) if still error 3 then check the sensor with a multi meter unplug sensor leads attach meter to sensor connectors. Have someone by hand rotate the pedal while you observe the multi meter opening and closing the internal sensor circuit if no change in meter readings then replace the sensor.

My Airdyne AD-6 crank arms are ~45* apart, not 180* Can they be adjusted?

It is possible that the crank arms are not seated correctly on the bottom bracket spindle, causing them to be misaligned. Try removing the crank arms and re-installing them, making sure that they are properly aligned with each other and with the bottom bracket spindle. If that doesn't work, there may be an issue with the bottom bracket itself, in which case it may need to be replaced. You can also check the manual for your Airdyne AD-6 to see if there are any specific instructions for adjusting the crank arms.
