This sounds like a motor control board issue. In my experience I have seen it either speed up when it is supposed to slow down or you will get a pulsating or lunging type action in the running belt. There are companies available that can test and repair said board for a fraction of the price. You might check with Carolina Technical Services LifeFitness motor controller repair
I would suggest swapping the consoles to see if the problem follows. If this does not help you figure it out, you are more than likely looking at a wiring issue.
Check the 6v battery. If you're getting 6v or more, you have a faulty console. Not sure if you want to fix as the console is pretty expensive unless you can get a used one. Try Usedtreadmillrepairparts.com. They sell used parts.

Please Help,I have just bought a used treadmill life fitness T3, and i have jut put it on but in the top its saying Replace the emergency stop switch, i don't know what it means as this is the first time i bought one :(
